Who Knew?

I'm so proud of my new found green thumb! I love being out in the garden, regardless of the heat. The flowers are doing great! One of the sunflowers in about it have its first bloom, which makes us all very excited! This morning I was out there cleaning it up some and putting some more garden soil down when I noticed that some of the other flowers will be blooming soon too! The sunflower seeds haven't sprouted yet, should be another week I think. I should have marked the calendar when I planted them, but I didn't. I would really like to dress up the garden some more though. Add in a few decorations or something. I have three butterflies stakes and a fence around it. It needs more.
It's funny how something that didn't interest you at all in your younger days peaks your interest now that you're pushing thirty. I've never been one to spend time in a garden, much less get something to actually grow.  I'm the mom who actually enjoys being in the kitchen. But I really enjoy being outside in the garden. I'm sure most of that has to do with the fact that everything has been surviving. But I'll take it. And who knows, maybe one day our little flower garden will look as beautiful as the gardens in the ritzy neighborhoods where they hire someone to do it for them.

  1. You never know. You could be a future gardener making the big bucks for your beautiful designs. It's funny how the things that we had absolutely NO interest in when we were younger is what we aspire to do now. Funny how that works out, huh? :)

    1. Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. It stands true with foods too. LOL

  2. Yea, cooking doesn't suck as much as it used to. I think cleaning the kitchen is worse, lol.
