You two-faced son of a Jackel

I have been such a slacker lately with this blog. Sorry. I've had a lot going on lately. Today hasn't been any different either. But I do have something that I would like to discuss with you all.

I'm pretty sure that most of you will agree with me on this, but if you don't please feel free to tell me so. See, the thing is, I have a friend (whom shall remain nameless) but this friend of mine is two-faced. It drives me insane. If you are going to talk shit about someone, then don't do it behind their back and then act like you're their friend to their face. That's bullshit. I hate it and I can't stand people that are like that. There's no reason for it. If you have a problem with someone, or an issue with someone, let that person know. Don't go telling everyone else about it if you're not willing to talk to them about it. I'm pretty sure that everyone at some point in their lives has been a little two-faced though. I know I have. But at the same time, I have no problem telling the person how I feel. You can't just be part-time friends with someone. That's ridiculous and absurd. And you shouldn't be friends with someone only when it's convient for you. If that's the type of person you are, then leave me out of it. I'm too damn old for that high school drama.

Anyway, that's all I wanted to say about that. I feel a bit better now. Thanks.
And sorry again for being a slacker.

A day in the life of a SuperMOM

So I would like to share with everyone that I received a bit of bad news this morning. My aunt Sharlene in Georgia has stage 4 cancer. I have yet to find out what kind of cancer. But I was told that they are wanting her to do kemo and radiation treatments five times a week. Not a good thing. I'm trying to stay strong for her, and I hope she puts up one hell of a fight. We're not ready to lose her.

On a different note, I think my black thumb may be rearing its ugly head again. This morning one of the sunflower sprouts that we have looks to be dying. I hope not. We've gotten so much rain lately. I've been doing a good job though of keeping them from getting too much rain. I keep bringing them inside the house. I hope it will be OK. And I wish the other pots would start sprouting. I'm starting to think they never will. Paiges' flower is still going strong and getting bigger each day. Just wish the other ones would do something. Anything.

Also, I have to start planning for my sons third birthday party. I have a week and a half to pull this off. It can be done. I think we are going to go with a "Cars" theme, again, and I found a McQueen cake pan at Party City for only $12.99. It's totally doable.

And, in the back of my head I'm trying to plan a surprise getaway to the beach for mine and the hubs four year anniversary at the end of July. Busy busy. It will be great to get away from Lakeland. I've already talked it over with my Mom and she's willing to babysit so that we can really, really get away. It will be so awesome! I was thinking, if it doesn't cost too much, maybe we could go for a couple days WITH the kids and then have a few days WITHOUT them. Oh yeah! That's what I'm talking about!

One more thing. My page, this page, just hit 2,000 views today. I would like to thank each and every one of you who made that happen!! And a big thanks to my girl SassiBoB, she's the reason I started the blog and she's the main reason I've received so many views! So thanks Bob! Love ya!

Also, don't forget to subscribe, follow, like and all that fun stuff. You can find me on Twitter here.

Thanks love!

Zombies!

So with all this recent chit chat about zombies, I must say, I don't think I would last long in a zombie apocalypse. I'm small. And weak. I will not lie. I'd be dead in no time flat. Which sucks!!
I'm sure by now you have all heard about the so-called "zombie" attack out of Miami. But if not, you can read about it here. It's pretty intense. Basically, there were two naked guys, and one of them was eating the other guys face. Literally. Then, a cop came and shot the crazed "zombie" to death. A friend of mine made a very hilarious video about the whole thing. You can watch it here. She did a great job. Turns out though, that the "zombie" wasn't actually a "zombie" he was just on cocaine. Makes me so glad that I never touched that crap!!

Memorial Day

I hope everyone had as much fun as we did on Memorial Day! We all went over to my Moms' new place for her first official family cookout. I'm happy to report it was a success. Even with a tropical depression lingering and promising lots of rain, it was still a good day. It did rain for a little minute, but it was mostly a heavy sprinkle and we were all inside eating at that point so it didn't matter. Mom made her "famous" chicken dip and homemade mac and cheese, Clay (my step-dad) was in charge of the burgers and hot dogs, I brought the beans and Grandma Jackie made the potato salad. Mom also tried her hand a new cake recipe, it was red, white and blue, with a homemade icing. It tasted like a colorful pound cake with amazing icing! She did a great job on the cake! We also managed to squeeze in a few games of Foosball while we were there. I suck. I did start to get a bit better, but my reaction time just wasn't up to par.

It was still fun though. The kids were able to get in on the action. Paige didn't want to stop playing! She loved it. Our friends, Jessica and Mike, were able to join us for the day. Jessica was able to go for a ride on Clays' motorcycle (with him) for the first time. She was so excited and scared at the same time! It was funny! She did good. Later, we all went back to our house and Jessica asked to see some of my scrap booking supplies because she's thinking about getting into the hobby. Well, she asked for it. I pulled out all three of my totes from the closet that are slap full of stuff. Stickers, paper, cut-outs, stamps, stencils, punch out designs, fancy scissors, all sorts of crap, and yes, everything is labeled. She actually told me that she knew I had an "addiction" but she had NO IDEA it was "that bad" and I busted out laughing!! I told her that I'm planning on going through all of it to get rid of some if it because I really do have a tad too much, and I told her that what I don't want I will just give to her to help her out since she wants to start doing it. She gladly accepted the offer.

Me and my Bestie (sorry the pic is a little blurry, I guess my Mom couldn't hold still!)

So all in all, it was a great way to spend our Memorial Day. I hope yours was great, too!

Our Flower Garden

This morning when I stepped out front to water the flowers, I got another little surprise! We had another one of the pots we planted the sunflower seeds in sprout over night! Super exciting!

It feels so great to finally have a green thumb instead of the black one that I had most of my life. I feel like I could grow anything! I know I can't, but it feels good to have some confidence when it comes to the garden. And our other sunflower bloom looks huge this morning, bigger than yesterday!

Look how tall it is!!! It's as big as my son! I love it! I feel like I'm kinda a pro when it comes to these sunflowers!

I wish I could say the same for what I believe to be my up and coming rose bush. See, it all started a couple months ago. My oldest daughter wanted to plant some Forget-Me-Not flowers that she purchased at the store. That's fine, we planted them. Weeks and weeks went by and nothing. Black thumb and all, so I didn't think too much of it. It was just kind of like whatever, they didn't grow so we will try something else. Which is where the rose bulb came into play. We planted it in the same pot that we planted the Forget-Me-Nots in, because they weren't growing so I didn't think it mattered. Didn't really expect the rose bulb to grow either. But now in that same pot, I have 3 separate plants growing. I don't know what they are. I'm thinking one of them has to be the rose bulb we planted. But because I've been such a failure in the gardening department for most of my life, I have no idea what the rose should or will look like as it grows, or the other flowers for that matter. And I don't really have anyone that I can ask, which is where all of you guys come in to play. I took a picture this morning of that pot.

Why the heck is this picture sideways, and why can't I fix it?

Anyways, as I was saying. The plants on the top, in this case, are what I believe to be the rose bulb, the one on the bottom is what I think is the Forget-Me-Nots. Can any of you confirm or deny this? Do you think it would be wise to get them out of the pot and into the ground? Or do you think any of it is a weed? My mom thinks the "Forget-Me-Nots" is a weed and not a flower. But I don't want to uproot it in case she is wrong. I need some help!!! Please!! What do you think?

And if you know how to rotate that pic, please let me know so that I can fix it for future posts.

Thanks a bunch!

I hope you all are having a great Memorial Day weekend! And a big thank you to all of those serving our country, and another big thank you to those who have served in the past.
