Damn cat!

Good Morning Dolls!

I hope your morning is off to a better start than mine! My oldest daughter woke me up to tell me that one of the six pots with marigolds seeds in it had broken.

Don't we all..??

Found this. Had to share.

I need a nap!

What a busy morning I have had. I am so very exhausted! I accomplished what I needed to in the flower garden though! I managed to dig a trench like thingy around the front of the garden and along one side. It was hard work and hot as hell but I got it done!

Quickie

Really quick I just wanted to inform you all that 3 out of the 6 Marigolds we planted have sprouted! I know what you're thinking because I said to it too! And yes, yes, it did happen quickly. But we're certainly not complaining about it!

Thank you sweet baby Jesus!

So I don't usually talk about this, but since I have finally found something that works great for me, I feel compelled to tell everyone about it. So, here it goes.

Ever since I can remember my face has been oily. It sucks, I know. I have always had trouble finding a really good face wash and a moisturizer because they would either leave my skin too dry, or too oily, or the moisturizer would leave my skin feeling icky and heavy. But all of that has finally changed!!

Hi, my name is... and I'm an addict.

My nine year old daughter had me download a game on my phone called Words With Friends. Pretty decent game. It's basically Scrabble.

Put Your Pink Bra On

It's official! It's that time of year again! I just completed registering for our next American Cancer Society event. Put Your Pink Bra On. I love this event! Aside from the fact that we are all there to support a great cause and raise money, we always have such a great time! Here's a pic of me and my mom at last years event in Polk City. I forgot about making myself a bra last year, but this year I won't!

Sexy Nursery Rhyme

Thanks a whole bunch! I hope you enjoyed it!

Worst Gardener EVER!

I am so completely frustrated this morning it's ridiculous!
It all kind of started yesterday morning when I went out front to look at the garden and check things out because we have had so much damn rain these past few days. First thing I see are these blue flowers coming out of my big pot, which is a good thing, but I thought that was my dang rose and not the Forget-Me-Nots. Shows what I know!

Pretty. Right?

Now if I could just figure out what that pink "flower" is. Probably a weed.

So, after noticing the Forget-Me-Nots I saw tons (and I mean tons) of damn ants. Everywhere. On everything. Even in the garden and all over my sunflowers. So instantly I grab my phone and called up my Mom. (I don't know why I call her, she has a blacker thumb than I do! Seriously, she has killed many a cactus in her time.) Anyway, she tells me that they are probably looking for dry land and that I should call up to Home Depot (where she works) and ask someone in garden. Because I told her that I had a can of this disease and pest killing stuff that is specifically for outdoor use on plants. I just wasn't sure if it would do the job. So I get off the phone with her and on the phone with someone in the gardening department who proceeds to tell me that I can use the can of stuff I have on hand and that it will not  harm my plants. Not even my sunflowers (which I specifically asked about.) So I hung up the phone, after thanking him for being so helpful, and I get to spraying. All done. All good. Ants are dead. Instantly.

So, this morning, I go out front to check my plants and I have BLACK spots/blotches on the leaves of every single freakin' plant in the flower garden! Do you see my frustration? If my damn flowers die because that idiot told me it was OK to spray that shit on them I am going to be pissed. Seriously pissed. First thing I did (of course) was call my mother and rage to her about that idiot.

Sorry, it's sideways, but you can see the black on this one.

'
This one too.

I have worked so dang hard on those sunflowers. I don't care if those ninety-nine cent flowers from the depot die, they can easily be replaced. But those sunflowers, man, it just really sucks. I'm so upset about it. I should have just left those ants alone. Stupid ants. It's totally their fault. They started war when they touched my flowers. Bastards.

I really hope my flowers don't die. The kids will be upset. I will be upset. And the worst part about it will be the fact that I will have to start all over. Again.

Scentsy

I have the best mom ever! She went to a Scentsy party a few weeks back and she bought me this awesome electric zebra print aroma warmer! How cool is that?!

She got me a honey dew scent for it. It smells amazing. No, seriously. It does. Scentsy is new to me and her as well. I have always been more of Partylite girl, but it's just gotten too expensive lately and besides, the kids break most of shit anyway.
But this warmer truly is awesome. I had it on for maybe 3 hours yesterday and it had the whole house smelling so great! The best part of that is the fact that the warmer is sitting on a dresser in my bedroom. Not the living room. But we could still smell it, faintly, but it was there.
My mother is going to start selling Scentsy products. She's excited about it, as am I because I can't wait to stock up on some more scents! And maybe another warmer or two! (If we're being honest!)

If you don't know what Scentsy is, or just want to check their site out, I will let you do that right now, just click right HERE. You're welcome.

Stop fighting it!!

Never in my life have I met a child who refuses to take medicine as much as my middle daughter does. She is unbelievable. I had to take her to the emergency room last night because her throat had a bunch of tiny red dots on it. I had never seen anything like that and so I freaked out a bit. Turns out she has strep throat and was running a fever.

This morning, as I am attempting to give her the medicine, she not only fights me to take it in the first place but she ended up spitting it all over herself. TWICE! I had to dunk her in the tub and wash it off her because it was sticky and everywhere! Oh, the frustration!! Thank goodness she only has to be on the antibiotics for a couple days. But now she's refusing to swallow, so she's drooling all over herself and she's refusing to open her mouth to talk or anything. I don't get it at all. It's a never-ending battle with her this morning. Hopefully, she won't fight me so much tomorrow. It's only once a day medicine so I'm not going to try again today. But in the morning, the fight will resume.

Does your son or daughter fight you to take their medicine when they are sick? Any tips or tricks you would care to share? I know I can mix some medicines in her drink, but she always seems to taste it and then refuses the drink. It's almost as if she would prefer to just stay sick and miserable. Suck it up girl!

Thanks for reading and ALL comments and tips/tricks are welcome!

It's gonna get mushy!

I'm so proud of my girls this week! Paige got a lot of recognition at her awards ceremony including Honor Roll and Brooke did great in her little musical performance! She is so shy though! It's so very cute to watch. She was singing along with the music but she wasn't doing any of the dance moves. I'm still a very proud mama though! It's hard for me to believe that Paige is advancing into the fourth grade and Brooke will be starting kindergarten! It's crazy! And to top it all off, Myles just turned 3 years old yesterday!

Paige with her certificate.

Brooke after the show.

Cupcakes and ice cream for the birthday boy!

 Paiges certificate

Two of the shirts we bought Myles.

Ok, that's enough of the pictures.

I just wanted to show off my kids and tell you all how amazingly awesome they are! I'm so proud of all of them. I teared up a bit at Brookes' school today, it's sad to think of how fast they grow up!           The teachers pointed out today that Brookes' class is the "Graduating Class of 2025" and I had never felt older in my life. It's depressing.

I love all my babies so much.

Alright. That's it. Thanks for reading!

Peace Out!

Kill me now

It's the last week of school! Can I get a hip-hip-hooray?!?!
This week seriously wears me out just by looking at the calendar.  Here's what we have going on.
Monday (Today)- Last Girl Scout meeting
Tuesday- Myles 3rd Birthday! Award ceremony for Paige at school.
Wednesday- Brookes' End of the Year Celebration party at her school.
Thursday- Last day of school! Girl Scout end of the year party.
Friday- Nothing (Day to REST! And prepare for the party.)
Saturday- Little Mans birthday party!
Sunday- Girl Scout field trip to the ZOOOOOOOO!!! (Hell yeah! So excited! I freaking LOVE the zoo!)

Are you as tired as I am just thinking about it all? Good grief.

And now for a subject change.
Awesome.

My sunflowers. The ones I planted a few weeks back. Well, I'm starting to give up. I think my black thumb has reared its' ugly head again or something because nothing is happening (at all) with those damn seeds. I had two sprouts, now only one. Don't ask me what happened to the other one because I have no idea. It just disappeared. And the one I do have is growing, or has been growing just fine. But something has once again eaten the little bitty petals on it. It's starting to make me mad. Guess maybe I should bring it in at night or something. I don't know what's going on (or not going on) with the other seeds I planted. Why wouldn't they have sprouted by now? Can the seeds be bad? Is that even an option? I can't figure it out. But I'm about ready to give up and plant something else. I have a few packs of seeds, can't remember what they are though and I don't feel like getting up to find them right now either. So. Whatever. Don't judge me. I'm allowed to be lazy from time to time.

Anyway. Thanks for reading.

You two-faced son of a Jackel

I have been such a slacker lately with this blog. Sorry. I've had a lot going on lately. Today hasn't been any different either. But I do have something that I would like to discuss with you all.

I'm pretty sure that most of you will agree with me on this, but if you don't please feel free to tell me so. See, the thing is, I have a friend (whom shall remain nameless) but this friend of mine is two-faced. It drives me insane. If you are going to talk shit about someone, then don't do it behind their back and then act like you're their friend to their face. That's bullshit. I hate it and I can't stand people that are like that. There's no reason for it. If you have a problem with someone, or an issue with someone, let that person know. Don't go telling everyone else about it if you're not willing to talk to them about it. I'm pretty sure that everyone at some point in their lives has been a little two-faced though. I know I have. But at the same time, I have no problem telling the person how I feel. You can't just be part-time friends with someone. That's ridiculous and absurd. And you shouldn't be friends with someone only when it's convient for you. If that's the type of person you are, then leave me out of it. I'm too damn old for that high school drama.

Anyway, that's all I wanted to say about that. I feel a bit better now. Thanks.
And sorry again for being a slacker.

A day in the life of a SuperMOM

So I would like to share with everyone that I received a bit of bad news this morning. My aunt Sharlene in Georgia has stage 4 cancer. I have yet to find out what kind of cancer. But I was told that they are wanting her to do kemo and radiation treatments five times a week. Not a good thing. I'm trying to stay strong for her, and I hope she puts up one hell of a fight. We're not ready to lose her.

On a different note, I think my black thumb may be rearing its ugly head again. This morning one of the sunflower sprouts that we have looks to be dying. I hope not. We've gotten so much rain lately. I've been doing a good job though of keeping them from getting too much rain. I keep bringing them inside the house. I hope it will be OK. And I wish the other pots would start sprouting. I'm starting to think they never will. Paiges' flower is still going strong and getting bigger each day. Just wish the other ones would do something. Anything.

Also, I have to start planning for my sons third birthday party. I have a week and a half to pull this off. It can be done. I think we are going to go with a "Cars" theme, again, and I found a McQueen cake pan at Party City for only $12.99. It's totally doable.

And, in the back of my head I'm trying to plan a surprise getaway to the beach for mine and the hubs four year anniversary at the end of July. Busy busy. It will be great to get away from Lakeland. I've already talked it over with my Mom and she's willing to babysit so that we can really, really get away. It will be so awesome! I was thinking, if it doesn't cost too much, maybe we could go for a couple days WITH the kids and then have a few days WITHOUT them. Oh yeah! That's what I'm talking about!

One more thing. My page, this page, just hit 2,000 views today. I would like to thank each and every one of you who made that happen!! And a big thanks to my girl SassiBoB, she's the reason I started the blog and she's the main reason I've received so many views! So thanks Bob! Love ya!

Also, don't forget to subscribe, follow, like and all that fun stuff. You can find me on Twitter here.

Thanks love!

Zombies!

So with all this recent chit chat about zombies, I must say, I don't think I would last long in a zombie apocalypse. I'm small. And weak. I will not lie. I'd be dead in no time flat. Which sucks!!
I'm sure by now you have all heard about the so-called "zombie" attack out of Miami. But if not, you can read about it here. It's pretty intense. Basically, there were two naked guys, and one of them was eating the other guys face. Literally. Then, a cop came and shot the crazed "zombie" to death. A friend of mine made a very hilarious video about the whole thing. You can watch it here. She did a great job. Turns out though, that the "zombie" wasn't actually a "zombie" he was just on cocaine. Makes me so glad that I never touched that crap!!

Memorial Day

I hope everyone had as much fun as we did on Memorial Day! We all went over to my Moms' new place for her first official family cookout. I'm happy to report it was a success. Even with a tropical depression lingering and promising lots of rain, it was still a good day. It did rain for a little minute, but it was mostly a heavy sprinkle and we were all inside eating at that point so it didn't matter. Mom made her "famous" chicken dip and homemade mac and cheese, Clay (my step-dad) was in charge of the burgers and hot dogs, I brought the beans and Grandma Jackie made the potato salad. Mom also tried her hand a new cake recipe, it was red, white and blue, with a homemade icing. It tasted like a colorful pound cake with amazing icing! She did a great job on the cake! We also managed to squeeze in a few games of Foosball while we were there. I suck. I did start to get a bit better, but my reaction time just wasn't up to par.

It was still fun though. The kids were able to get in on the action. Paige didn't want to stop playing! She loved it. Our friends, Jessica and Mike, were able to join us for the day. Jessica was able to go for a ride on Clays' motorcycle (with him) for the first time. She was so excited and scared at the same time! It was funny! She did good. Later, we all went back to our house and Jessica asked to see some of my scrap booking supplies because she's thinking about getting into the hobby. Well, she asked for it. I pulled out all three of my totes from the closet that are slap full of stuff. Stickers, paper, cut-outs, stamps, stencils, punch out designs, fancy scissors, all sorts of crap, and yes, everything is labeled. She actually told me that she knew I had an "addiction" but she had NO IDEA it was "that bad" and I busted out laughing!! I told her that I'm planning on going through all of it to get rid of some if it because I really do have a tad too much, and I told her that what I don't want I will just give to her to help her out since she wants to start doing it. She gladly accepted the offer.

Me and my Bestie (sorry the pic is a little blurry, I guess my Mom couldn't hold still!)

So all in all, it was a great way to spend our Memorial Day. I hope yours was great, too!

Our Flower Garden

This morning when I stepped out front to water the flowers, I got another little surprise! We had another one of the pots we planted the sunflower seeds in sprout over night! Super exciting!

It feels so great to finally have a green thumb instead of the black one that I had most of my life. I feel like I could grow anything! I know I can't, but it feels good to have some confidence when it comes to the garden. And our other sunflower bloom looks huge this morning, bigger than yesterday!

Look how tall it is!!! It's as big as my son! I love it! I feel like I'm kinda a pro when it comes to these sunflowers!

I wish I could say the same for what I believe to be my up and coming rose bush. See, it all started a couple months ago. My oldest daughter wanted to plant some Forget-Me-Not flowers that she purchased at the store. That's fine, we planted them. Weeks and weeks went by and nothing. Black thumb and all, so I didn't think too much of it. It was just kind of like whatever, they didn't grow so we will try something else. Which is where the rose bulb came into play. We planted it in the same pot that we planted the Forget-Me-Nots in, because they weren't growing so I didn't think it mattered. Didn't really expect the rose bulb to grow either. But now in that same pot, I have 3 separate plants growing. I don't know what they are. I'm thinking one of them has to be the rose bulb we planted. But because I've been such a failure in the gardening department for most of my life, I have no idea what the rose should or will look like as it grows, or the other flowers for that matter. And I don't really have anyone that I can ask, which is where all of you guys come in to play. I took a picture this morning of that pot.

Why the heck is this picture sideways, and why can't I fix it?

Anyways, as I was saying. The plants on the top, in this case, are what I believe to be the rose bulb, the one on the bottom is what I think is the Forget-Me-Nots. Can any of you confirm or deny this? Do you think it would be wise to get them out of the pot and into the ground? Or do you think any of it is a weed? My mom thinks the "Forget-Me-Nots" is a weed and not a flower. But I don't want to uproot it in case she is wrong. I need some help!!! Please!! What do you think?

And if you know how to rotate that pic, please let me know so that I can fix it for future posts.

Thanks a bunch!

I hope you all are having a great Memorial Day weekend! And a big thank you to all of those serving our country, and another big thank you to those who have served in the past.
