Quickie

Really quick I just wanted to inform you all that 3 out of the 6 Marigolds we planted have sprouted! I know what you're thinking because I said to it too! And yes, yes, it did happen quickly. But we're certainly not complaining about it!

Put Your Pink Bra On

It's official! It's that time of year again! I just completed registering for our next American Cancer Society event. Put Your Pink Bra On. I love this event! Aside from the fact that we are all there to support a great cause and raise money, we always have such a great time! Here's a pic of me and my mom at last years event in Polk City. I forgot about making myself a bra last year, but this year I won't!

A day in the life of a SuperMOM

So I would like to share with everyone that I received a bit of bad news this morning. My aunt Sharlene in Georgia has stage 4 cancer. I have yet to find out what kind of cancer. But I was told that they are wanting her to do kemo and radiation treatments five times a week. Not a good thing. I'm trying to stay strong for her, and I hope she puts up one hell of a fight. We're not ready to lose her.

On a different note, I think my black thumb may be rearing its ugly head again. This morning one of the sunflower sprouts that we have looks to be dying. I hope not. We've gotten so much rain lately. I've been doing a good job though of keeping them from getting too much rain. I keep bringing them inside the house. I hope it will be OK. And I wish the other pots would start sprouting. I'm starting to think they never will. Paiges' flower is still going strong and getting bigger each day. Just wish the other ones would do something. Anything.

Also, I have to start planning for my sons third birthday party. I have a week and a half to pull this off. It can be done. I think we are going to go with a "Cars" theme, again, and I found a McQueen cake pan at Party City for only $12.99. It's totally doable.

And, in the back of my head I'm trying to plan a surprise getaway to the beach for mine and the hubs four year anniversary at the end of July. Busy busy. It will be great to get away from Lakeland. I've already talked it over with my Mom and she's willing to babysit so that we can really, really get away. It will be so awesome! I was thinking, if it doesn't cost too much, maybe we could go for a couple days WITH the kids and then have a few days WITHOUT them. Oh yeah! That's what I'm talking about!

One more thing. My page, this page, just hit 2,000 views today. I would like to thank each and every one of you who made that happen!! And a big thanks to my girl SassiBoB, she's the reason I started the blog and she's the main reason I've received so many views! So thanks Bob! Love ya!

Late Night Love

So, it's kinda late for me to be doing this, but whatever. It's been a very busy Friday for me. After getting the girls off to school, I came home and did some housework/laundry. Then shortly before lunch Myles and I went to Nanas' house to help her with some stuff. Then it was time to hurry back home and plant the sunflower seeds, I shouldn't have planted them in mid-day like that, but I wanted to do it before the girls got home and wanted to "help" so I kinda had to. But anyways, so I transplanted Paiges' sunflower into a bigger pot and I also planted sunflower seeds in like six or seven other pots. After picking up the girls, we changed and got ready to attend the Relay for Life event that was happening at Indian Summer Farms with Nana. We got to meet Sheriff Grady Judd, he's such a nice man - we've had the pleasure of meeting him before. Then, we did some shopping, I got a new breast cancer shirt that reads "Buck Cancer - Save the Racks" and yes, there's a deer on it - hence, "racks." Also, we joined all the participants in some walking, eating, and we watched some really cute dancers dressed as dalmatians doing a dance to Cruella De Ville. They were just adorable! Then we sat for a few and enjoyed some Rita's Ice, it was so refreshing. Thankfully, the rain stayed away for the most part while we were there. It sprinkled a bit at the start of it but it didn't last long or return. The kids and I didn't return home until about 8:30 and now they are both just passed completely out. It's so funny how they go be running strong all day and then BAM! They're out. It really was a great day though. And I apologize if this blog seems a little out of whack, but I'm trying to hurry, so deal with it. Anyways, here's a few pictures from today. Enjoy. And goodnight.

Cheers to my Mom!

So with Mother's Day quickly approaching I find it compelling to write about my mom, Debra. Growing up as the only child of a hard-working single mother was no joke. She worked so hard for everything we had. She did what she needed to do and she always put me first. I was so lucky, so blessed, to have her as my mother. Now that I've grown, and have kids of my own, I can truly appreciate all that she has done for me as a child and even as an adult. She is strong, independent and most importantly a survivor. In more ways than one. She has overcome a lot of health issues and even breast cancer, but she has never let life get her down - she's too strong-minded for that! I love her so much, she is my best friend.
Here we are together at "The Big Pink Ribbon" event last October.

This was for the "Put Your Pink Bra On" walk last October.

I love you, Mom!
